TechSIGHTS front sights for SKS

"Bob here is a pic of the Techsight replacement front compared to the standard SKS front sight post. As you can see it's about half the diameter of the original post and gives you a finer aiming point and also a bit taller which give you a little mores range of adjustment, for $7 shipped it's a good cheap accuracy improvement."

Thanks Ronnie! I just contacted TechSIGHTS to see if I can test one. ~Bob

Bob insulation of the front post is pretty straight forward. First I use the back end of my calipers to measure the original position from the top of the sight hood to the top of the front post before removing the original one, this helps keep you close to your original setting once you replace it with the new post. I use a flat tip screwdriver to slightly spread the ears on the post to give it some tension once it's installed in the front sight block, yours may be sufficient as is. I apply one small drop of BLUE thread locker to each side on the threads it keep vibration from loosing the pin don't use the RED it set up solid.

Use a pair of needle nose pliers with the jaws taped with a couple loops of soft black electrical tape to protect the threads of the pin, gently squeeze the ears together while pressing down on the top of the post with the sight adjustment tool it should then start in smoothly. Use the measurement you took with the back gage on your calipers to set the sight to the same height and your ready to fine tune it in the field.

If you want to paint the small pin say a florescent orange or your color of choice do that before you install.
